Direct Your Donation To Support A Specific Program

In partnership with the City School District of Albany, the Albany Fund for Education also provides opportunities for you to target your gift to support specific programs and activities. Through your restricted gifts, AFE is able to support and enrich opportunities for all students in the following areas:

Albany High School Academy Development Fund – Gifts to this fund will support the Albany High School Business Alliance, a team of district and community partners, in the development of the unique themes for each of the school’s new academies: Citizenship, Discovery, Innovation and Leadership.

Athletics Fund – Athletics provide an opportunity to excel and be part of the school community, and help students stay connected to and motivated in school. These funds can be used for uniforms, equipment, field improvements and similar investments.

College-level Course Fund – This fund supports high school students taking college-level courses in such programs as The International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Early College High School, and University/College in the High School. The fund can pay for extra expenses as course fees, review materials, and mentors for economically disadvantaged students.

Extended Learning Opportunities Fund – After-school programs in academics, athletics and other areas keep students connected and engaged. A broad range of programs, Saturday seminars, supplemental classes and family education will be offered with these funds.

Facilities Fund – Contributions to this fund will support school beautification, building projects and playground equipment.

Foreign Language Fund – Foreign languages are increasingly important in our global economy. These funds will support language programs and related activities.

Literacy Fund – Reading is an essential skill for life. This fund encourages literacy and will be used for classroom and library books, literacy/library programs, and spelling bee-related costs.

Music and Art Fund – Music and art are critical to neurological development and proven to enhance math skills. However, they are often seen as “extras.” This fund will provide instruments, equipment, supplies and assistance for students to participate in competitions.

Student Experiential Learning and Travel Fund – Many families in our school district don’t have the resources to send their children on the many enriching local, national and international trips offered to all district students. This fund will make class, school and district-sponsored field trips and travel more accessible.

Technology Fund – Computers, advanced calculators, white boards, lab equipment and other in- structional technology are essential tools in today’s economy. Help keep our classrooms up to date.
